Northwood Elementary School - Playground Ribbon Cutting Ceremony August 17, 2015 at 9:30AM
June 24, 2015 - Northwood Elementary School Playground Upgrade Groundbreaking Ceremony
Berryessa Union School District held a special ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. to mark the beginning of construction projects funded by the Measure L Bond Program. Measure L, a $77 million dollar general obligation bond, was passed by the Berryessa community with one of the highest percentages of support for a Bond by voters in Santa Clara County on the November 4, 2014 election.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held at Northwood Elementary School located at 2760 East Trimble Road, San Jose, CA 95132. Northwood Elementary School is one of BUSD’s highest performing Title I schools. Projects that are scheduled to take place this summer include:

Playground Equipment Upgrades

IT Infrastructure Upgrades

Security Fencing -Paving Improvements
The Berryessa community attended this special event. This ceremony focused on the Playground equipment upgrades that were selected by the Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students in the school. Superintendent, Will H. Ector, Jr. along with the Board of Trustees President, Mr. Richard Claspill; Vice President, Dr. David Cohen; Clerk, Mrs. Thelma Boac; and Trustees Mr. Hugo Jimenez and Mr. Khoa Nguyen will participate in this historic event.
Measure L is the first bond passed in the community in almost twenty years. The Berryessa Union School District Measure L Bond Program will impact all thirteen school facilities over the next four years. This is only the beginning of a long list of projects that will upgrade our school security, repair aging facilities and create a 21st Century learning environment for our students and teachers.
