Measure A Parcel tax Waiver APPLICATION

Under the provisions of the Measure A Parcel Tax voted on by the residents of the Berryessa Union School District on November 2, 2021, seniors, those individual home owners who will be at least 65 by July 1, 2022, or for each year, thereafter, where the home owner reaches 65 by July 1st of that year – are exempt from paying the $79.00 per year parcel assessment.  To receive the aforementioned exemption, the completed application and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Berryessa Union School District by June 30th prior to the following July 1st of each fiscal year.  
 
If you already receive an exemption from the cost of Measure K, you will not need to reapply.

Beginning July 1, 2023, refunds/reimbursements for late applications will no longer be awarded
 
 

PARCEL TAX OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

An independent oversight committee, made up of volunteers from the Berryessa Community, was established by the Board of Trustees to oversee and ensure appropriate spending of Parcel Tax funding.  First formed in 2009, the Committee members were appointed for a three year term.  The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that Parcel Tax funds are spent in accordance with the parameters set forth in the ballot language. Additionally, the committee assesses the impact of the programs funded by Parcel Taxes has on the students of the District.  
 
Applications are currently being accepted for the following vacant positions:
  • Parent Representative for the Morrill Middle School Family (Brooktree, Laneview, Northwood Elementary schools, Morrill Middle School)
  • Parent Representative for the Piedmont Middle School Family (Noble, Summerdale, Toyon, Vinci Park  Elementary Schools, Piedmont Middle  School)
  • Parent Representative for the Sierramont Middle School Family (Cherrywood, Majestic Way, Ruskin  Elementary Schools, Sierramont Middle  School)
  • Certificated/CTAB Representative current employee of Berryessa Union School District – One position
  • Classified Representative (CSEA or Teamster) current employee of Berryessa Union School District – One position
  • Community Member not related to an employee or having children currently in the district but reside within the district's boundaries - One position
 
As part of our obligation to the community to be accountable for the funds we get from Parcel Taxes, the Board of Trustees would like to invite you to apply for one of the vacant positions on the Oversight Committee.  Questions about the application and selection process, and the expectations of committee members may submitted to the Assistant Superintendent, Business Services by Email or by calling the Business Office at (408) 923-1860.
