TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE BERRYESSA UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
On August 19, 2025 a vacancy was created on the Board of Trustees of the Berryessa Union School District following the resignation of Board member Hugo Jimenez.
The Berryessa Union School District Board of Trustees has appointed Shanna Brewer to assume the vacant seat on the Board.
The date for the appointment of Shanna Brewer to the Berryessa Union School District Board of Trustees was October 15, 2025.
Unless a petition calling for a special election pursuant to Education Code 5091 is filed in the Office of the Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools within 30 days of this provisional appointment, it shall become an effective appointment.

The Board of Trustees generally meets on the SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office located at 981 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose, CA 95131. (Closed session oftentimes precedes regular Board meetings and begins at 6 p.m.) Due to breaks in the calendar and other scheduling priorities, however, there is oftentimes the need to schedule special meetings and/or adjust Board Meeting dates and times.
The Board also has scheduled Study Sessions to discuss important issues. Study Sessions allow the Board to meet together and study specific issues in depth. Study Sessions are open to the public. Staff, parents, and interested community members are encouraged to attend and participate in these sessions which are designed to inform Board Members, staff, parents and community members about important issues that impact our schools. All Study Sessions will be held in the Board Room at the District Office.
