Learn how to incorporate all the digital tools available in the resources for the Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study.  In this session, teachers will learn to use all the digital tools and develop lessons using the workspace module and student dashboards.  Collecting, reviewing, annotating will be explored using the writing developmental process used by Lucy Calkins.

It has the look of Facebook, which grabs students' interest, but it also has controls in place to help protect their privacy and promote positive interactions among students and teachers. Nearpod is a unique mobile platform for the use of iPads (and other mobile devices) in the classroom. Using Nearpod, teachers and students can easily create interactive multimedia presentations including slides, video, audio and live web pages, as well as engaging interactive features like polls, drawings, quizzes and free text activities.  This workshop is only one session; choose either date. Its easy-to-use interface can be used to create and share tutorials, collaborate and develop ideas, and create live or recorded presentations. This tool meets many of the demands of the CCSS including speaking and listening and making use of digital media and visual displays of data to communicate ideas.
