Learn how to incorporate all the digital tools available in the resources for the Lucy Calkins Writing Units of Study. In this session, teachers will learn to use all the digital tools and develop lessons using the workspace module and student dashboards. Collecting, reviewing, annotating will be explored using the writing developmental process used by Lucy Calkins.
Edmodo is a full-featured network designed for the educational environment. It has the look of Facebook, which grabs students' interest, but it also has controls in place to help protect their privacy and promote positive interactions among students and teachers. Parents also have a portal to view student activity. Connect with teachers, students and families to share what's going on in your educational environment.
Nearpod is a unique mobile platform for the use of iPads (and other mobile devices) in the classroom. Using Nearpod, teachers and students can easily create interactive multimedia presentations including slides, video, audio and live web pages, as well as engaging interactive features like polls, drawings, quizzes and free text activities. This workshop is only one session; choose either date. Note: Created on a computer for student use on an iPad.
Teachers will learn how to use a ClassDojo, a classroom tool that helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators.
Imagine an App For the iPad that allows the user to do just that— explain anything and everything! Its easy-to-use interface can be used to create and share tutorials, collaborate and develop ideas, and create live or recorded presentations. This tool meets many of the demands of the CCSS including speaking and listening and making use of digital media and visual displays of data to communicate ideas.

Participants will leave the session with a new set of skills, websites, and tools to immediately implement in their classrooms- all using dynamic Web tools that are absolutely FREE! Learn tools that like Voki, Glogster, Prezi and more to build your CCSS digital toolkit!
Catapult K12 is a content management system that empowers anyone, from teachers to technology directors, to control, update and maintain website content including text, images, links, video, and documents. It requires only word processing skills to operate, and it quickly and efficiently integrates any changes you make to the content within the site.
This course is designed for administrators, teachers, support staff, and other interested staff whose job duties include updating content on the website.
Classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments digitally, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized. Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click.
